Diamond Certification
Certification for diamonds is a laboratory report: colour, clarity, cut, carat weight, and comments on treatments or fluorescence. GIA, IGI and HRD are the names most often used in trade.
A report is not an appraisal. Two diamonds with the same printed grade can sell at different prices because of light performance and demand.
What a tokenized diamond file should include
- Report number and lab name.
- Shape, measurements and plotted inclusions if given.
- Any treatment (HPHT, fracture fill) in plain language.
